Our mobile network is evolving.

I saw on forum some problems with the certified phones too.

i agree with you.

Doesn't seem to be an exact science.

Anyone know why it still doesnt support HD calls when you call someone that is with bell, rogers or telus?
0 -
For good quality calls both sides must have good quality audio technology. If you are on 4G LTE talking to someone on a 3G analog network neither side will get high quality.

> For all of you who currently have a 3G SIM card, Fizz will see that each and everyone of you gets a FREE VoLTE compatible SIM card. You’ll receive an email invitation to order it. This process will take place over several weeks, so don’t worry if you’re not part of the first batch.

Good news!0 -
I am happy Fizz mobile network is evolving, great news for clients

Do you happen to know which network band 71 is used on?
0 -
Band 71 is definitely Fizz and Videotron. Every day, I connect to band 71. And several months ago, while I was at Les Galeries de la Capitale in Quebec city, I also connected to band #71.
0 -
Perfect. Thanks for the info
0 -
Interesting! Thank you so much for the infos! I knew Fizz and Oxio were Vidéotron but not about the details on band #71!
1 -
Band 71 is a relatively low frequency band in the 600Mhz range. Because of the lower frequency it can cover a larger area
1 -
Agree, and lower frequency bands are great for indoor wave penetration. But not very fast for data transmission.
0 -
Kinda nice they are deploying thoses bands Last compagnie I was with I could barely get a connection inside the building at my job now I get 3 or 4 bars
1 -
Yes. And they are potentially less damaging to humans than the higher frequencies.
0 -
Kinda nice to hear. High frequency towers are growing like crazy tho especialy with the auction in late 2023/2024 where 4099 licenses of 3800 MHz were sold for 2.1 billions
1 -
As long as they don't put them in my backyard.
1 -
I'm not an expert, but these are certainly 5G higher frequency short range transmission stations.
0 -
Yes, one compagnie also started deploying standalone 5g earlyer this year
1 -
Yes. And the 5G spectrum will be able to go up to 40 Ghz with closely spaced transmitters in densely populated areas to achieve more bandwidth.
1 -
Dam that's realy high!
1 -
Yeah. 7.5mm wavelength.

Insane news! Thanks Fizz!

4G LTE+ speeds are incredibly fast.
0 -
Work great!
0 -
Yes and its more then enough for a phone!
0 -
At least for now.
0 -
Thanks! 😊😊
0 -
Ye speeds are, but would be nice to have the other 5g benefits tho
0 -
5G offers lower latency.
0 -
Yes also I think you can have more users and eventually VoNR but we are far from that in Canada we are starting to get standalone 5g!
0 -
4G LTE will be around for many years.
0 -
When 4G is no longer there, we will be all 5G or 5G+.
4G LTE, 10 years or more likely..
0 -
It's just a dream for Fizz users.
0 -
5G will come eventually.
0 -
Yea it will be realy long. We are juste starting to get "real" 5g
0 -
Maybe faster than you think.
0 -
Would be nice if its faster
0 -
Real 5g and 5g+ On Montréal.
0 -
Do they have a 5G+ ?
0 -
Is it standalone 5g?
0 -
So 5G+ is enhanced 5G.
It offers higher speeds and lower latency usually using mmWave bands
0 -
Thank you!
0 -
4G LTE+ should be good enough for a few years.
0 -
Cool. Good to know
0 -
Normaly, 5G between 250 mbps and 1gbps.
5G+ is more of 1gbps and max 2gbps. Canada.
2023 data here!
0 -
I get over 300 mbps on 4G LTE+.
0 -
Yes, what is bad with 5g right now is that it need to connect to 4g and 5g to work so it use more battery. Not worth changing till we get 5g standalone.
0 -
That's fast! Most I got was 180 mbps
