I’ve tested this today and it does infact work, shows lte on phone when on call, data not working but that is intended as there is no active data plan currently
0 -
Yes it still work even when the data is off or ran out of data.

Good to hear!

at least to know when roaming in us I’ll have no issues at the moment

I have a Samsung A52 5G (model SM-A526W) and my wife a Motorola Stylus 5G, and both work VoLTE perfectly in north-eastern USA, and south eastern Florida.

Yes also in Canada since 3g will be removed in 2025.

finally, it was about time haha
0 -
Yes haha The main fizz roaming partner will start removing it next summer. I juste hope fizz will add more supported phone by then. Cause it mean some people will lose the ability to call even with phones that are 1 years old like One+ phones by exemple.

2G GSM is still around in Quebec !
0 -
oof… that's sad
0 -
They should probably get a ride it. Im pretty sure barely anyone use it.

I just tried 2G at home in Quebec and phone calls work! If you are in Florida, and your phone is not VoLTE compliant, the only way you can make a phone call is thru 2G GSM (very limited coverage).
Attached pictures show 2G frequency band #8 in network mode 2G GSM FizzExt.

That's nice! Atlest it give an option for people that doesnt have a Volte compatible phone!

Will this consume data?
0 -
If you talk about calls no it wont consume data.

@ Oli 64JKA...
2G coverage can be 20 or 30 km, whereas 4G
or 5G coverage is usually less than 5km. 2G can still be useful for emergency calls.
2 -
Dam 20 to 30km that's realy far! Yes I agree it can still be usefull.
1 -
for emergencies, that's a good thing

Fizz upgrades its network, users appreciate it
0 -
Yes! I'm sure its not the last upgrade. Hopefully they will be more in the near future!

any plan for 5g ?
0 -
No, any plan but not necessary for now. Good Speed with 4G LTE.
0 -
When 5G is developed, Fizz will notify us
0 -
No one know's.
0 -
Hope it will be soon
0 -
Me too but my phone has only 4G LTE haha!
0 -
