POCO X5 Pro 5G It's a Xiaomi phone, with specs similar to a Pixel 7a but with a bigger battery for half the price. You can look up phone specs on kimovil.com Xiaomi phones have worked well for me for half a decade. While they don't support every band in use in Canada, they support most. But this anti-competitive…

Are you tapped out yet? If not, IRUZA !

When I say coverage is 'poor', I should have probably said coverage is 'short range'. There are towers around my neighbourhood, and when I'm near one I get a get VoLTE 4G/4G+ signal, but a 1/2 km away I'm back to UMTS or HSPA. Without more towers, it seems that coverage is going to be more variable. But at least I'm…

You're on the phone whitelist, so that is to be expected.

'q1) Some perks are giftable some no,' but the 1GB Perks were giftable for the last two years and now not. I understand their motivation, to get people to buy more services. But someone in the marketing department is completely missing the reality that they are also frustrating their current customers, who receive these…

Try this page: I've had tickets take MONTHS. You may want to contact and reopen a ticket. I've had issues where it seemed that some technician blamed it on user error and gave a trite reply when it really was a problem on their end. God help you if anyone ever accidentally tries to port your number. Even though it doesn't…

You nailed it. And what's most annoying for me is that they have control over all of these aspects. They set the T&Cs. They control the website. They control the UX. And if their display says X days it may be an error, but it's their error, not mine, and they should honour what their UX said. Especially since it was…

That makes more sense. They are rolling out VoLTE and a prerequisite is the new SIM, but it's not enough alone. But it's been half a year though and I'm still not been offered a SIM or access to VoLTE, and two friends with US & Canada plans (who would make sense to be at the front of the line) have also not been targeted.…

Customer Service immediately escalated my inquiry. So it appears that it's a surprise to them too and there is no canned response ready for complaints. Good. Fizz has an increasingly inexpensive service only if you don't value your time.
-
That's just because the SIM cards were changed to support VoLTE. I've got the new SIM, but VoLTE still appears to be unavailable in the US with Fizz.
-
That's not a bug. You can call it a data entry error on the part of someone at Fizz, but that's like a data entry error on the part of someone setting prices at the grocery store. You don't get to promise one thing and deliver another. Reaching out to Fizz. I was already annoyed that it was for 60 days with a 30 day…

My initial interest in VoLTE was so that I (and various other mobile accounts) could continue to make calls in the US, which has retired their 3G networks. I now have a VoLTE SIM in my phone, acquired by myself due to a clusterbleep from a failted port-out attempt. The new SIM does not appear to improve the situation for…

Would appreciate an official timeline for rollout of the SIM cards. I have two older friends who both have US plans and are caught by surprise by the lack of what seems like the simplest feature: the ability to make voice calls. Any official statement would be appreciated. Including an official statement saying that we…

I appreciate the attempt. My Rewards usually supplies all the data I need, but I accidentally left Wi-Fi turned off and burned through my data. I guess they won't let anyone receive data unless they already have data. Unfortunate.

Thank you very much for your offer! EECQV And if you are willing, one additional code: SAZP5

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Yes, the original question was closed. I contacted the original Whizz by PM so there was a chance for clarification. (they were looking at the wrong account) Now, if the Whizz would just remove the warning on the original post...

Not going to repost the original question on the chance it gets flagged again. :( But there is a link in my new question that goes to the original post. ;)

Hello Eugen, and thanks for the reply. Yes, I have more than one account. You can find all the history under my other account, but that account has no forum profile. Not sure how I could identify it without breaking a rule. Perhaps a PM? One issue with the consent message is that it's unexpected and therefore unsettling.…

Thanks for the private message suggestion. I posted no phone number. At best you could argue that I posted an area code, but this is a QC company so there is a short list. :) Not going to report the question in case I get three strikes before I get a chance to explain their mistake. Doesn't help that Chat remains down for…

Remember that Fizz is the Videotron flanker brand. They exist in order to compete with Videotron competition without forcing Videotron to change pricing. For customer's with higher expectations and needs, Fizz does not have an incentive to help because Videotron can still serve those people, and they are not as price…

This question needs to be closed. It's not answered, but the perk expired last year.

This is going to require some assistance from Fizz directly. Can't image you can do much from your phone. Contact them and explain. They may recommend that you change your number. Normally, I'd say contact them from this page, but it may not be working at present: https://fizz.ca/en/solutions/technical-issues

In spite of what is mentioned regarding the inability to transfer VoIP numbers, I have done this twice. First time was transferring a number from a VoIP provider to Videotron. Second time was transferring that same Videotron number to Fizz. Note that at least once a cloud service refused to accept the number as a cell…

A lot of phones support dual SIMs. This includes just about everything from Xiaomi.

I have spare 1GB Perks, but these require your phone number and can not be gifted using a referral code. Message your phone number directly to me and let me know how much you need.

Check this site for the information you seek: https://www.frequencycheck.com/ I've had several Xiaomi phones myself. They work on Videotron infrastructure. There are a couple of bands that they don't support, but this is not a problem unless you live in certain other provinces. Again, the frequency check website can…

The message may not be offensive, but it is misleading and has confused at least one elderly friend who is a client. It didn't help that the phone did not work in the US, even though they had a US+Canada plan, so the two things together create a perfect storm of angst and frustration. I paid for it. It's not working. Now…

I missed a field and had this issue. I forget the field that I missed, but I remember that it blended into the background.

So the problem arises when you have multiple accounts—which you can't merge—and you want to use a perk from one for a plan in the other. The perk comes with no obligations besides that it must be used on the current account. The obligations come with the 'discounted' phone prices. And in case anyone wonders why you might…
