How to avoid getting Roaming Alert emails and text when you already have a plan

I received an email and a text warning me that I am roaming in the US. I have a Canada – USA plan. This message scared me and made me go check my plan again. Would it be possible to send a different email to people who already have a plan that covers Canada and USA?

Thanks

With a Canada+USA plan, you can travel worry-free; your texts, calls, and data are fully included in the US with no surprise overage fees. The text and email warnings are automated alerts sent by the network when you connect to US partner towers, serving as a technical notification rather than an extra charge warning.

It should be an automated message sent out to everyone who travels internationally no matter what kind of plan you have. They probably haven't gone so far as to program it such that if your plan also covers the US, you don't receive that alert (although they could do this to avoid confusion). If your plan is Canada + US, then this message doesn't apply to your case.

You can go to https://zone.fizz.ca/dce/customer-ui-prod/account/profile, find Plan communication preferences, and turn off Roaming Alerts. But that turns all of them off, regardless of whether you go to the US, which is included in your plan, or anywhere else.

It just sent out to everyone who travels. If you have Canada – USA plan already, you can ignore it.

    Hello @Cforgues ,
Thank you for your interest in our services.
Related to the message that you received about roaming in the US, I want to inform you that it is simply an automated message that is received once the system detects the location. Having a Canada + USA coverage means that you are covered in the US as well and Fizz just informs the client, however no extra charges are deducted. We are working to make automated messages in accordance with the plan’s coverage - for now this is a work in progress.
For the clients that do have the Canada + USA coverage, the travel add-ons are the solution if they need mobile data, texts or minutes. All the information related to the travel add-ons is compiled here in this file: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/im-travelling-outside-my-coverage-area-what-are-my-options
I wish you a great day!
