Yes would have been nice to still see them in business.

Yes! Mine didnt had a camera the only thing I could do is call i didnt even took texting on my plan lol I bet the pictures were "amazing" with that 3.2MP haha

Last phone is from 2018 and in 2022 they stopped supporting some of them!

It appears like Fizz completely give up on extending the list and whitelist some older device that are theoretically fully compatible with volte. As soon as the 3g towers get shut down, I will be forced to replace a perfectly working device
1 -
It's a shame because I had to replace my fully functional Windows Phone 8.1 Volte for an Iphone precisely because of this.
0 -
Yes that's realy bad, they should realy add more phones on the list but I doupt they will do it.
1 -
It would also be good for the environment in a sense in addition because you have to change your phone with often one that works well again.
0 -
Yes it will avoid waste. They might also keep customers that would otherwise have changed compagnie instead of changing their phone.

my iPhone is imported from another country (Japan) and it works for volte but says no in my account
0 -
That's nice that it work! For some people it doesnt show in their accounts.
0 -
Same thing for my phone. It doesn't matter as long as it works LTE.
0 -
Normaly this is other serial number of Canada.
0 -
good to see that it’s not a black list or anything and that it possibly could work for other phones, just the ones confirmed working will say yes in my account area
0 -
Hahahahahaha wow damn that's the flip flop era with only calling days lol pager time was something too before that
Yeah it was impressive at that time honestly putting them into the PC on full size, it was still clear

Must been hard for people who bought recently on those years with cutting off updates in the future and not be able to be up-to-date with the phone
0 -
Yea it was realy juste a "phone" lol That's surprising that they could take decents pictures in that era!
0 -
Yea if they bought one in 2021 they only been able to use it for one year its bad!
0 -
so if you don’t have a data plan does it still use Volte for calls? Im guessing so but does anyone know for sure
0 -
Yes, phones still use VOLTE anyway and the free data when subscribing is also used to receive Imessage from Google Iphone or RCS.With point bonuses, it gives levels that add up to 3 total squares and it allows you to add Internet cards or discounts as the case may be.
So just with the forum, the badges etc.. I have 1 gig of "free" internet per month. 2x 500 megs and soon my 3rd box I'll see if I put a 250 or even $1 off.

I gave up at this point. I hope they don't shut down 3g towers for now and I'll change phone when that will happen. My phone is currently 5 years old so I'm already satisfied by how long it lasted

Nice to hear it. Unfortunately old pixels don't work if the haven't been certified. It is what it is at this point…
0 -
thats too bad, Im sure there’s no reason for it either except a bit flipped in a list somewhere
0 -
Yes even if you dont have data it use Volte for calls. Next year they start removing 3g so the only way to call will be by using Volte.
0 -
The main fizz roaming partener (the compagnie in red) will start removing 3g the march 31. You still have time but it realy bad!! Fizz doesnt have any date for removing 3g.
0 -
Whenever I find a good promo I will probably jump on it! Thanks for the info… let's see if Fizz comes out with an official communication on this soon…
0 -
I'm pretty sure the main reason is to incentivize users to buy a new phone but what do I know…
0 -
Yes that would be nice if they were giving us a date!
0 -
that’s true, if you didn’t know any better then you might be easily convinced to buy a new phone instead of trying to get it to work correctly
0 -
The thing is that at some point, if 3g tower will be actually shut down next year, people won't have a choice…
0 -
I know they’ll delay it but you’re right eventually there won’t be a choice
0 -
Yes people have a choice to switch carrier anytime and VoLTE will work instantly... Most carriers here in Quebec don't use whitelists anymore…
0 -
I have find other with Whitelist…
0 -
Also to keep customers because with the % off your plan for buying a phone if you leave your still paying the phone full price but doesnt have the cheap plan with it.
0 -
That's nice, hopefully fizz will stop using whitelist too.

Thank you for the information.0

still have not received my VoLTE sim card yet….my phone is fully VoLTE compliant, listed in Fizz official mobile here
i guess i have to pay to get the new sim card ? (and everyone else)

While we're on the topic of adding new technology for calling, you should add Wifi calling as a feature for those who live in more remote communities, or visit more remote communities! I was living in a basement suite before, still in the middle of the city, but coverage was spotty for some reason, and Wifi calling would have been a lifesaver.

Thank you!0
-
will 5g be available soon
0 -
No but not necessary for good speed. 4G LTE is very good.
0 -
That would be a realy nice feature. I hope they will do it soon!
0 -
No one know's.
0 -
So you can choose to spend more with another carrier or to spend more by buying a compatible phone. That's honestly not nice…
1 -
If you never requested you should have the option to request it for free on your profile, otherwise you can contact the customer support. When they transitioned to volte compatible sim card they sent them for free to all customers upon request. Probably you missed the email?
0 -
In my case I spend less now in addition to having WiFi Calling..
0 -
never got any email. checked it out on regular basis.
will fill out a complain form to find out why I didn't get the volte-approved sim card.
thx

Probably detected to spam mail if you not receive Fizz mail.
