Hi,
New member joined just over a week ago.
I am wondering how long the forum probation for new members lasts.

Posts from new member will be flagged for moderation, and we are able to see only after the @Whizz approved them. Usually this status last for couples of weeks

Thank you, I did not know that!

I guess it will be over soon then.

    Exactly, it's about 3-4 days.

  • Supreme Geek 5/594🔥 Posts: 4,086 ✭✭

It's been 11 days so far.

It's just strange to ask or answer questions if they are delayed by 1 day.

Kind of goes against the purpose of having a forum in the first place.

It's actually a lot more practical to go through the chat

  • Supreme Geek 5/5155🔥 Posts: 6,498 ✭✭

This thing it's available only in the first days, but you can ask questions. Until they will approve the question you will be in measure to reply.

@Whizz probably you can look on @BeakBird probation period, since it seems that he wants to participate actively to the forum

When you guys post something does it show up right away?
I assume that is how I will know probation is over.
  • Supreme Geek 5/594🔥 Posts: 4,086 ✭✭

that’s good information for new members, thanks for sharing

  • Supreme Geek 5/5 Posts: 2,466 ✭✭

there is apparently a waiting time between 1 and 3 weeks

  • Supreme Geek 5/594🔥 Posts: 4,086 ✭✭

Definitely. I wish I could have known at the beginning. You post something and you think you messed up because you don't see it so you repost the same information.

  • Supreme Geek 5/5 Posts: 2,466 ✭✭

right 😂 well now i know even if it’s too late, at least i’ll share the info to members that need to know

  • Supreme Geek 5/594🔥 Posts: 4,086 ✭✭

It's good to get the post back up the list.

  • Supreme Geek 5/5 Posts: 2,466 ✭✭

yes. It gives it more visibility

  • Supreme Geek 5/594🔥 Posts: 4,086 ✭✭

I think that the probation should be mentioned in the FAQ somewhere.

As in "When you join the community hub, you will be subject to a probation period during which your posts will be verified by a moderator before being posted. This will result in a delay between the moment you post and the moment it becomes visible on the community hub."

  • Supreme Geek 5/5 Posts: 2,466 ✭✭

    that is an awesome idea

  • Supreme Geek 5/594🔥 Posts: 4,086 ✭✭

It's what I would have liked to have read before starting to post.

  • Supreme Geek 5/5155🔥 Posts: 4,406 ✭✭

I'm on probation? But I haven't done anything wrong :D
  • Supreme Geek 5/594🔥 Posts: 4,086 ✭✭

I guess you can call it preventive probation 😀.

  • Supreme Geek 5/5 Posts: 1,385 ✭✭

Probation may last a few weeks. In my case, it didn’t last long, but it was almost 3 years ago. I don’t know how Fizz manages that period right now…

  • Supreme Geek 5/5155🔥 Posts: 6,498 ✭✭

    It last about 4-5 days.

Definitely should be mentioned to new members. I'm a member of the forum with my Fizz account, and have only ordered a sim card, without a plan yet. However, my order was messed up and only received one sim instead of two. The waiting game is just unbearable and is a real turn-off, making me reconsider whether I want to actually join Fizz. Chat wait times for a response is usually hours, and this probation period where your posts are delayed makes it worse.

You could try to contact @Whizz . They may be able to help.
