How do I activate visual voicemail on iPhone?

I have visual voicemail on my plan, but it’s not working… whoever I go to voicemail it shows the old one that I have to listen to… I looked in setttings to activate visual voicemail but don’t see anything

I’ve reset my phone unplugged the SIM card and still nothing
