Very strange, you can also buy a SIM in local store

My best guess is to try and clear your cache/cookies
Chrome:Seeing as your friend has already been able to order a sim, I am guessing you're both within the green coverage area
but it wouldn't hurt to double check.It could be an account issue in which case you'll probably have to contact support again but from what you've posted it seems like you cannot reach support at all.
If you're still having issues after that you should private message or mention Whizz who can look into your issue
