Moving multiple Phones from Bell to existing Fizz Account

Hi,

I already have an account with Fizz and already use them for my Internet and TV. My family and I are with Bell for our phones since forever but are looking into switching over to Fizz Mobile. We have 4 phones in total.

What would be the best course of action to benefit the most from this move? Can I get some benefits by adding all the phones to my account or should my family members create separate accounts?

Thanks!

    Hello @VinceB ,
Thank you for your interest in our Fizz mobile plans.
Since you already have Fizz Internet/TV, I'd look at creating separate Fizz Mobile accounts for each family member rather than putting all 4 lines under a single account. Fizz allows multiple plans on one account, but adding additional lines to an existing account generally does not provide the same referral opportunities as activating new accounts. Separate accounts also let each person receive their own perks and rewards over time. Also, with separate accounts you can gift data, from one plan to another, as @Goldfinch mentioned.
One common approach is to activate the first mobile line, then use that account's referral code when creating the next family member's account, repeating the process for the remaining lines. You have here all the information related to the referral program: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/whats-my-rewards-program
The main advantage of keeping everything under one account is convenience, since all lines are managed in one place and account progress/perks accumulate faster. However, from a purely savings and rewards perspective, separate accounts would be a better option.
I wish you a great day!

By using a single account you can manage every plan in a centralized UI without needing to setup permission or log in to each account, you'd also gain reward points and levels faster, as each plan contribute to the account level.

On the other hand, if you choose to have different accounts for each qualifying plan, each account would benefit from the referral bonus (Make sure to use code before subscribing).

Interesting, thanks. I think the question now would be; which one of these 2 options would be more beneficial over time?

With either approach, you can share data between the lines, provided they have at least some paid data with them. So, you could choose a larger data plan for one and then a minimal amount for the others, and share/gift data to them.

I have 2 phone lines, Internet, and very recently added Fizz TV and they are all under the same account. I have different billing dates for each (although the Internet and TV are billed together). I also have separate wallets for each phone line.

Through my services, plus regularly gifting data to strangers, I've been able to quickly move up in levels and am now at level 5, which includes $5 off of my Internet, $1 plus 500 free megs of days on one phone line, and 750 free megs (3*250) on the other line. If I had separate accounts, I would be at lower levels. I am happy having my services available at a glance all under the same account and feel it has worked out to my advantage.

Depending on the referral credits available, the math may work out differently for you, especially for 4 lines.

Another consideration is that FIzz does not currently allow you to switch who an account is associated with. So if you have kids who may want to assume control of their lines when they're older, transferring to their name may require porting to another carrier then porting back in under their name.
