Buying a preloved phone

Looking to buy a preloved phone to keep as spare.

However, it appears the only options are to buy it with a new plan, or tie it to an existing plan. Is there a way to simply buy the phone outright? Thank you.

    Hello @Billy01 ,
Thank you for your interest in our preloved phones.
I want to inform you that you can buy a phone by choosing the option to associate it to the existing plan. This will not affect the mobile plan or anything else. The system that Fizz uses for purchasing a phone requires either an active plan or the creation of a new plan.
The purchased phone will be unlocked and free to use in our network or any other networks. Since you want to keep the phone as a spare one, you can simply make a SIM change to associate the old phone to the Fizz mobile plan. I am attaching here this complete set of information related to the SIM change process: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-can-i-change-sim-associated-my-mobile-plan
If you have any other questions related to this matter, I kindly invite you to contact us on chat and one of my colleagues will happily provide answers to all of your questions.
I wish you a great day!

    Hello @Billy01
When you click on a model there is an option «Using an exitant plan», I suppose it is then possible to add the new phone at your plan (no additional charge for the plan. Just pay the phone).

You can contact support for more informations

Or open a private discussion with @Whizz by using the little enveloppe up this page.
    Have a nice day

    There is a way.

No Rebate: If you buy the preloved phone at its full retail price without a promotional discount, you can buy it upfront and do not need to tie a new plan to it. The phone will be unlocked and yours to keep

BeakBird, but how would you do it, there is no option to by outright, only to tie to a new plan or an existing plan, which I don't want as my current phone is already tied to my existing plan. I don't want to tie it to a new plan either. I just want to buy a phone.

To buy your phone outright, follow these steps:

Visit the Fizz Shop: Go to the Fizz Preloved Phones section and select the device model you want to buy.

Select Full Price: Do not choose phones that have a promotional discount applied. Discounted phones require you to maintain or activate a Fizz mobile plan for 24 months.

Checkout: During checkout, choose the outright purchase option. You can pay all at once or finance through Affirm (formerly PayBright).

Use on Any Carrier: Once the phone arrives at your door, it is fully yours and unlocked. You do not need to activate a Fizz plan to use it.

    Important:

While you do not need an active plan, you must be logged into a Fizz account to access the phone shop.

You just buy a new plan then tie it to an existing plan. After that, you can switch your ESIM to your old phone.
