Switching to partner network

Do calls/data drop when I switch from being connected to the Fizz network to a partner or Fizz EXT network? Or is the transition seamless so my call/data isn't interrupted?

Calls and data will often drop or briefly interrupt when your phone switches between the native Fizz network and a partner Fizz EXT network. Because Fizz relies heavily on VoLTE technology, a handover between networks can cause active calls to disconnect or data to pause while the phone reconnects to roaming towers.

    Hello makejopa,
Thank you for describing your situation to us.
As BeakBird said previously as well, when your phone switches between the Fizz network and a partner (Fizz EXT) network, an active call may occasionally disconnect. This happens because voice calls can't always be transferred seamlessly between different networks during the switch. Once your phone finishes connecting to the new network, you should be able to make or receive calls normally.
You can also see more details about this here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/partner-networks.
I hope you have a pleasant day!
