Sim Card

I have a question regarding my SIM card. I want to know how often Fizz resells phone numbers, because it has been more than 6 months since I bought my SIM card. Due to the previous owner having created a Telegram account with this number, I can’t create an account, and the old account has not been deactivated yet. I don’t know what to do.

Sounds like you have to take this issue up with Telegram. Phone numbers are a limited resource, they are being reused after some grace period. All carriers do that.

If you've had possession of your current phone number for more than six months, and Telegram is still blocking it, the policy is unreasonable on their part and you have to take it up with their customer support.

"Telegram accounts are deleted immediately upon manual deactivation via the deletion page or automatically if inactive for 6 months (default, adjustable to 1 month, 3 months, or 1 year). Once deleted, the account is permanently removed—including messages, media, and contacts—and cannot be restored."
So you should be able to signup to a new account (not restore)

    Good morning @Molulu1322

Carriers recycle the mobile numbers after 90 days. As others have noted, your problem will reside with Telegram

    Cheers,

    Brad

@MobileFizzer_VBMV6 I've contacted telegram for more than 20 times but they did not answer at all. That contact form is only for police or sth like that as far as I know, besides for my case the other service providers in a different country I know that they have options for new users to have the access telegram through some ways but with fizz not at all

If Telegram is unresponsive to valid requests such as yours, maybe you should take it as a hint to go with a better supported messaging service.

The only other legal option would be to have Fizz issue a new phone number to you. Just make sure you don't lose access to any of your own services in the process.

Is it legal option from Fizz? I don't think so bcuz they told me that is not its problem & I should contact Telegram & no one offered me free changing phone number, so both sides remained unresponsive about my case :((

Hi, this is not a problem with the cell phone company but with a third party. There is nothing Fizz can do, and even elsewhere it is the phone number that is already taken, and it is not just software like Telegram that has this problem. This could become a long-term issue.

So no free changes are possible because, as mentioned above, this has nothing to do with the mobile company. You need to contact Telegram..

@G225 code IRSGE have you ever contacted Telegram? They do not respond at all
I think its contact form is just a spam or sth :)

There isn't any charge to changing a phone number, but you will be limited to current pricing if you do so.
The only charges are for monthly plan and sim card, if you already have one or use eSIM it'll be free.

I don't think, you have fact-checked your statement. Here is the the official Fizz FAQ on changing your phone number:

    https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-do-i-get-a-new-phone-number

It's not free, but it says nothing about having to switch to a current in-market plan. This info matches what I see in my own account when I follow the link I had posted above.

You can start a new plan with a new number for no charge, that's why I mentioned you'd be subject to current plans pricing.

Try to use SMS Recovery: Open the Telegram app and enter your phone number.Tap "Next," and you should receive an SMS with a code. Enter the code, and if prompted for the two-step verification password, tap "Forgot password?".You will receive another SMS to confirm the reset.

@alexanderluo10890 as long as the old account is active, the code will sent to the previous owner's device
    So there is no way

I think the OP has that phone number now so the SMS will go to them.

Just be aware, that you would be committing computer fraud if you entered another person's account like that. No matter how much it may seem justified in this case. That's actually why I didn't mention it..

    I didn't think of that.
Well reset the password and then delete the account.
    Then recreate one.
They may not actually delete it though so they might just reactivate the old one.
I doubt it is computer fraud because OP was assigned the number legally.

No, the OP does not have the phone number. It seems you know nothing about how telegram security part works
