Unable to send texts when not connected to wifi

My son is unable to send texts or make calls unless he is connected to wifi (with the exception of two numbers who are android users). I have enabled SMS, his iMessage is greyed out in settings, but it still doesn't let him, which completely defeats the purpose. I might as well get rid of the plan and just go back to having him use his phone through wifi if this is the case.

    Make sure that cellular data is enabled on your phone and that your data plan is not used up.

    I recommend contacting Support. It is strange he can make calls and text two numbers but no others. Maybe there is something activated on his phone restricting who he can contact like a parental feature.

    Sorry to hear about the issue.
    I verified your account and it appears that there is no service with the phone plan ( if your son is using the one on the account ).

    Please check the device and reset the phone`s network settings  :  go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings and make sure he has the correct SMSC number in his device : 1-514-424-0053  with more details being available here  https://fizz.ca/en/faq/i-cant-send-or-receive-text-messages
    Afterwards he will need to restart the phone.
