Referral bonus. What is the Truth

Hello.
I've asked customer service with a chat but they won't give me a straight answer. Yesterday.
When I log into my account the amount stated along with my referral code is $25. (Ontario)

But advertisements all over my google searches as well as the actual fizz website state that the referral bonus is $40 website set to Ontario.

So which is it? There seems to be a discrepancy.

First of all, Fizz can change the referral bonus at any time. You'd always get the referral bonus that was active at the time the referral was made.
Second of all, the bonus may also depend on what province your referral buddy has their plan in.

Still 40$ in Ontario, but 25$ Quebec. Maybe you use a referral code from Québec, they are back to 25$.

This is not working like this.

E.g. I am based on Quebec, so if someone from Ontario will use my refferal code, he will receive 40$ and I will receive 25$.

@Whizz please take a look why @Fred_3AZN9 based in Ontario got just 25$ instead of 40$.

Well I recieved a $25 referral when I signed up. That was fine. That's how it was then.
I am just wondering cause I want to sign up my folks and my daughter shortly.
The website says 40. My account says 25 when I log in there to copy my code. Both in Ontario.
I have not made any moves yet.

There is another discrepancy. The international calling is supposed to be $2 but when I try to add it to my account for say the Netherlands it's $5. Well actually all countries it's $5.
The new cost was supposed to be $2 since about September 10th with all the new improvements (email sent out that day)
I guess the small print says 'price is subject to change without notice'. But thats a bit quick to raise the international calling up again. Tricked ya ;).

If your address in your Fizz account is from Ontario and whoever from Ontario will use your refferal code, you both should receive 40$ (according to the current promotion posted on Fizz site).

Not sure if you understand French, but this is a discussion where a @Whizz (moderator) explained how this works

    https://forum.fizz.ca/fr/discussion/2663712/la-prime-de-reference-est-de-40-sauf-au-quebec

PS. Not excluded that there's a bug on the site currently (there were several recently), but this can be confirmed by a @Whizz only.

Alright. I went through that thread and read the explanation (using Google translate). Makes sense.
    A bug is possible.
Except it doesn't make sense when the website set to Ontario states a $40 bonus.

And my account also in Ontario says $25 if I get a referral using my code

@Whizz could you please take a look and clarify?

Ya it keeps changing on my account. 1 min it reads $25 then it's $40 then the next time it's only listed a value bonus not even sure what that one means.

Definitely a bug, currently I am getting a variable instead of the value.

This was reported around a week ago on French forum and it was fixed. Looks like it resurfaced again or they are working on it.

I cleared the cache and cookies in my browser, tried in Incognito mode, but the issue is still there.

    Hello @Fred_3AZN9 ,

The referral reward amount varies based on the province and the activation date of the referred line.
This means the reward can differ depending on where the activated line is located (Quebec, Ontario, etc.), and when the activation took place.
Please note: If you have multiple mobile lines in different provinces, the reward amount will be based on the line set as your default plan in Settings > Communications.
That’s the line where the reward will be applied.
