Why is the outage not showing up anywhere? Gatineau.

There is a Videotron internet outage in Gatineau. This naturally affects Fizz.

The outage has been going on for most of the day. At least since 6 am. It's now almost 5pm.

I wasted my time troubleshooting and trying to get a technician here, only to realize there was an outage by going to the Videotron website of all places.

Why is this information not on the Fizz website? When will the internet come back? Can Fizz make up for this somehow?

They said it would be back "in a few hours" hours ago.

    Hi

    There is an outage

Site faviconOutages and status of our services | Support | Videotron
, fizz didn't update their status they was suppose to do it since they have a page for this
    Site faviconStatus of our services

They said couple of hours, but that was an estimation

Fizz is probably trying to improve their outage status page, They used to use it but stopped doing it I don't know why

It's taking them 12 hours more than expected.

    I completely agree!

I'm in the Aylmer area (J9J2A5), and I've been without internet since 6 am as well. I wasted three hours with Fizz support between 11 am and 2 pm, rebooting my modem, resetting everything, and going through the same troubleshooting steps repeatedly. They initially suggested sending a technician (with the possibility of charging $60 if the issue was on my end), but after pressing further, they finally admitted there were ongoing works in the area.

It’s frustrating that we have to check Videotron’s site to get any real updates. Fizz really should do a better job at communicating outages directly to customers. A simple status page or notification would save so much hassle.

If anyone hears about when the outage is expected to be resolved, please share! This is getting ridiculous.

@Zadox These are not official sources but on Facebook pages linked to Videotron Gatineau Aylmer users say their services have returned to normal since Videotron hoped to resolve everything before 8 p.m.
