How do some people have so much data to gift?
I'm continually amazed by the huge amounts of data that are constantly being gifted back and forth. I'm always happy to receive, but I'm pretty frugal, so I run a data plan that has the absolute minimum that I need. How are so many people able to be constantly gifting so much? Are there older plans that had more data for super cheap that you're still holding on to? You can't gift data once it's been gifted, so where is it coming from?

Probably they have a 75GB data plan? and if you use only 30 or 50 Gb, you endup with a huge rollover

It partly depends on your approach to data, money and community. I have a 10GB plan, even though my average monthly usage is only 1-3GB. When I set up my current plan, the difference between 10GB and a smaller package was really small ($1/month). So I took the slightly bigger package, which gives me coverage for the odd time I use a lot of data (like on a road trip with friends - finding cool attractions/restaurants along the way and streaming karaoke songs uses a lot!).
In the months that I won't use a lot, I could drop my package down, but why? First, packages are changing all the time, and I won't always be able to get the same deal I had when I try to boost my package again. Second, I'm lucky enough that $1/month isn't a point of stress for me, but I know it is for some people. In my low-usage months, I can keep my package, and share it with people who don't have the extra money that month.I usually give away 2-3GB per month on the forum, I might share 1-2GB with real life friends who need it, and I let the rest roll over. When the big months hit, I have 20-25GB stocked up for fun. In the little months, my extra data helps out people who need it. In either type of month, I think it's worth $1.

Probably 50gb+ plans, I contantly have 90gb to 100gb in rollover data.

I have a 40GB plan. The unused data left at the end of a cycle gets rollover to the next cycle. So I accumulate a lot.

Dang, and here I am sitting with a 3GB plan like a chump, haha

That makes a lot of sense! And also a great way to give back to the community! Honestly if it was just a $1 more for that much data I'd take it too and probably do what you're doing. I'm keeping my eyes peeled on potential promo plans in the future!

Ok, this is making more sense to me now. That's a lot of data!

I'm relatively new to the fizz community. I'm on a 20gb plan, and use between 5-10gb per month. Like Wolframium42 I feel like it would work against you to swap plans constantly, so I just keep what I've got. With the way rollover works, I've feel comfortable gifting around 5gb and still build a buffer for the rare outlier month when my usage might exceed my monthly allocation. To me, rollover data + data gifting = amazing combo.

Yes by swaping plan constantly it often doesnt worth it especialy if you catch you plan in promo.

Fizz gives points when you give data, so its interesting to give

Yes you are right, for me I also end up with lot of data roll over, therefore, I gift them to be counted as points

I completely agree, the rollover was one of the selling features for me switching to Fizz for sure!

Some plans were just a $1 more for the double so people take it as a security purposes for emergency so they never ran out and $1 more it's less than a coffee nowadays so having it in a monthly basis makes it peace of mind for every cycle and most of the time the remaining are gifted to people in need which can help them tremendously and at the same time, they receive points for gifting, everyone wins and everyone is happy, what more do you want? 🙂
All thanks to FIZZ ⚡️

Yes I remember a while ago it was like 1$ from 30gb to 40gb

Lol yeah I'll take it for a $1 more if my average were around 25-30GB and I believe it used to be like that from 6GB to 20GB it was like a $1 or $2 more, I'll take it of course the 20GB

Yes, sometimes its worth it! Ita a bit more but for alot more data!
1 -
Yeah accurate 👌 I'll take it to share to people in need for an extra $1
Nowadays one medium coffee is around $2.25 lol

Exactly its not that expensive its less then a coffee! Mean while 1gb add-on is 12$ lol
1 -
Yeah bet, lmao that's the worse pricing of the universe for add-on
OMG 1GB for $12 + tax... Would take more data for a dollar in my original plan any day

Atleast we have data gifting because gifting because this is ridiculous! I'm sure its worst at other compagnies! I hope they give us high data plan for cheaper I'll gladly give more data!

Yeah! Never use add-on! They are not very convenient 😅

Yes haha Better ask on the data gifting section on the forum!

Yeah exactly. Other places Don't have the ability to share data with others, only FIZZ has it. Lol of course sharing is caring
