Can we block data usage from fizz account setting ?
Does Fizz have an option to block data usage before reaching a certain threshold? I am asking this because my children have problems limiting their data usage and often end up with no data in the middle of the billing cycle, which is problematic for emergencies (tracking and navigating). If I could control the data usage from the Fizz account settings, I would be able to limit their usage before it’s too late, especially in case they need to go into unfamiliar territory. This could be an interesting option if it's not already available.

No Fizz doesn't offer this feature, but you should check the phone, they have this kind of option

I guess there is no way to do that with fizz. Probably they will never offer this option because it will reduce the number of people that purchase new data plans.
Elena code xzi4t : Thanks for the advice but both of my children have an iPhone, so the android solution doesn't work. For the iPhone, you can minimize the data usage but you can't ask the phone to completely stop using it after a monthly billing cycle threshold. Unless you install a third party App.

Get yourself a router.
You can then assign fixed IP addresses on your children's devices and limit their usage by creating rules on the router.

Only if you install your router in bridge and block it from there. There is no such an option on Fizz.

Am I wrong? It seems to me that @JoGF is asking for the mobile, since they use all the data from it. Why we are talking about the modem/router?

like many people said, you should consider your phone config. I can do that myself with my phone : set limit, min, max, monthly based, track your usage and apps, stop at certain limit…straight from your phone.

You can go to your settings and set up notifications so you can be notified when data exceeds a limit.
Fizz account > My Settings > Plan communication preferences > Usage alerts > Send me a text when I've used up: 75%/90%/100%
This won't be an amazing solution but as other users pointed out, using the phones built in data monitoring function will work but won't be 100% accurate so having these texts can help remind them they need to be careful with using data when they are close to hitting the threshold you set.

Currently we do not have this option, however we are working on our services daily and hopefully in the nearest future we will provide this option too, as it would be very useful for situations like yours.
In the meantime, you can also verify your usage from your phone's settings.
