The RCS chat feature stopped working on my phone. What happened?

I've been using both SMS and RCS chat on my Fizz phone but when I tried to send an RCS chat today it wasn't available and sent it SMS. The reply (also from a Fizz phone) failed to send with an error message "can't send message with Fizz error 2"

    Sorry to hear about this situation.
    Please verify if you have the RCS chat option activated on your phone.
    You can also try and test the sim card into a different phone to see if it works.
    Additionally you can try and see if work with others numbers as well.
