Hi @Howard D.
The new card will work with your phone in Canada, however, your calls are done using the 3G like now
Your phone will not work in the USA in order to make calls

It will work, but
It's just that your device will fall back to legacy circuit switch network to make a voice call ( or circuit switch fall back ) the legacy network can be either 3G or 2G
if in doubt you can always contact support: https://fizz.ca/en/support

It won't work with Fizz but you can also switch to other carriers if you want your Samsung A10e to work with VoLTE.

The a10e is listed as compatible on other sites. Seems like a marketing trick to force purchase of a new phone.

Even videotron list it :

I had received email for free sim a while ago, it's not like they didnt knew about my phone already. Did the steps to confirm order successfully and forgot about it. I was surprised to receive today an email about sim and needed phone change. Obviously no trace of the order...

Hello Howard D.,
As some of our members confirmed you, the new SIM VoLTE will work on any phone in which the non-VoLTE SIM works, however if the phone is not VoLTE certified it will behave exactly like the SIM you currently have (calls and SMS will use 3G networks and mobile data will use LTE networks) With VoLTE SIM and certified phone all the services will use LTE networks.
You can find more information about VoLTE in this FAQ: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/why-volte-important
Also, Eric G. 40068 please note that each provider has it's own phone models that are certified on their networks. You can test if a phone which isn't in the list can use properly VoLTE with the Fizz SIM, however in case it won't work, our technical team won't be able to fix this. For the certified models the can make some manipulations on their end.
Related to the free VoLTE SIM you ordered, this SIMs are delivered differently than the purchased SIMs and they don't have a tracking number, however you can anytime verify if the order was placed by going in your Fizz account at: My settings -> Transaction history. The order will be visible there with a value of 0$.
The delivery estimation for the free SIMs is around 2 weeks, information visible in the FAQ from above.
Thank you and I wish you a good day,
