Broken router after power shortage

Hello,

After a power shortage yesterday, my modem/router seems to be broken. Even if i change power outlet, no lights activate after plugging it. I've been waiting all day for an answer via the chat or ai bot with no luck. Can you please help me book an appointment with a technician to replace it, or offer me a call back so we can fix the issue.

Thank you in advance.

Kindly

Felix DuMesnil

You already created another post here:

    Broken modem

Please don't create several posts for the same issue.

As I already told you in the other post, it's better to contact customer service here https://fizz.ca/en/support

@Whizz I believe you can close one of the two posts... thank you!

    Hello DuMesnil12__  ,

Sorry to hear about the issue.

From what I see you are already discussing with the customer service via WhatsApp, so please be sure to reply to their questions there ( as you still need to provide a few more dates for the service call and also confirm the contact number ).

Details on how to prepare for the technician visit once it`s set up can be found here : https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-do-i-manage-appointment-technician-visit-my-service-address

    Thank you for your understanding.
    Have a good one,
    -Raul

is it commun issue that fizz router/modem break after a power shortage? It could become problematic for me if so. I’d like to plan and know in advance what to do if that happen here where power shortages happens regularly.

Yes , it looks like a service call is implemented! The power has powers, modems 💔 😂

PS : never happened to my modem, must be a isolated case

I hope it's not a common issue... isn't there a reset button on the modem? Doesn't it solve the issue?

    Hello guys,

I will close this post as we discussed with DuMesnil12__  in private, however I want first to reply to you FizzyFizz JQMPM
In case the modem was damaged by the outage it will either not working anymore on the electric side or it won't be able to connect to the network. In both cases, the verification to make sure it's damaged is to plug it into another electrical outlet, to see if the issue comes from the modem, or from the outlet.
If it's coming from the modem, the factory reset won't work and the modem needs to be replaced.

I wish you all a great day,
    -Georgian
