Anyone else had a problem when roaming in usa. Carriers requesting sign in.

This kind of problem can happen when you don’t have any data left

Do you have a Canda/USA plan?
if you don’t have the Canada/usa plan you need to check the add on usages
i never had problem with Verizon

Verizon never worked for me in the US, AT&T only for data.

So, received a response from Fizz. Seems like Jess_i88b6 was onto something.
Response from fizz
"I have verified the issue you had with the password to connect to the AT&T network in USA.
It is asking for a password or PIN if you do not have any mode data to use.
For example, the data you have as part of your plan is 1GB. After you have used it, it only remained the data from the roll over. But the roll over comes from when you had coverage Quebec and it could not be used in USA.
So this is why your data did not work any more and was asking you for a PIN/password."
- So basically, even though I show data remaining, they burn off the data from the plan and will not use the rollover data as it was not originally from a USA plan.
Now I know!

Thanks for the quick response. I thought the same thing but I looked on the fizz site and it still showed over 2 gigs data left. As soon as I crossed the border into Quebec and switched back to fizz, all was working as advertised.

I do have a Canada USA plan and all worked fine for over 3 days. It suddenly stopped and started asking for password on both At&t and Verizon mobile. Could not try TMobile because I could not register to their network or it was unavailable in my area.

Did you try restarting the phone? Or change the network to 3G and then back to LTE? Sometimes that solves my problems. My connection with T Mobile was working fine for two weeks and all of a sudden it didn't let me connect any more. I didn't get the message asking for a password, it just said that the network was not available. Strange because my husband could use TMobile with his US sim card.

Yes restarted phone, removed sim, reset network, even tried my sim in another phone. Same problem- asking for sign in password.

Perhaps you can try contacting support, in the hope they won't give you pre-fabricated response.

I also contacted support. No immediate answer. They promised to look into it and email me back with a response. I even sent them screen shots of the networks requesting sign in. (via internet access).
Thanks for all your responses. It seems no one else has experienced this problem yet. If I get a response from Fizz and it actually corrects the problem, I will post it.
Frankly, over the last 2 years, every time I have traveled to the USA, there has been some new problem. Mostly works, but far from flawless. I really don't feel as if we can depend on Fizz in USA.
- spotty coverage, now better with At&T when it works
- hotspot not working on At&T
- volte last year not functioning (now corrected)
- and now the sign in issue

Good to know. Thanks.

Fizz must change this phrase to be more specific, since the phrase is not true considering the answer that @CM08 got from the support
Does my rolled over data instantly expire when I change my plan?
Of course not. You keep your rolled over data for two (2) complete payment cycles even if you change your plan during that time, and even if that new plan has no data.

Good point

Now I have a "dumb" question. When I change my US/Canada plan with 1 GB to 4 GB, I should be able to use my rollover data since I didn't change the coverage, am I correct?

Sure you are using the same coverage. The official answer was
But the roll over comes from when you had coverage Quebec and it could not be used in USA.
