Calls and Data in US
Hi Fizz Community,
I will be travelling to the US for a month (within one month billing cycle) and I would like to have access to calls, and data. I currently have a Quebec-only plan and I know that only data can be used in the US, if I purchase a Canada+US plan.
My question is, if there is data remaining, after my trip, and I change my plan back to the Quebec -only plan, will the extra data get transferred ?

It's been a long time since I haven't changed my plans, but I believe that at least 5 days before the end of your current Quebec plan, you have to subscribe to the Canada plan and the Canada + USA plan. Your current unused data and unlimited calls and text messages, as well as your new monthly data, calls and text messages can be used in the USA. Any unused data, calls, and text messages in the USA will be carried over to the next month. If you want cancel your Canada + USA plan, you must do it at least 5 days before the end of your billing cycle, otherwise it will be renewed automatically for another billing cycle.
Take note that there may be issues with calls and messages as VoLTE has not been launched yet.

Changing coverage zone and data capacity in your plan work independantly.
If you however, purchase a vacation add-on that is USA specific, this cannot be used until you return to the US and is non-transferable / non-refundable.

Be advised.
"As of July 2022, if you are travelling in the United States.... only the LTE network is available. Calling or receiving calls and texts is not possible, including 911 calls, even if you are using a VoLTE compatible phone, activated with a VoLTE compatible SIM card. When Fizz will offer VoLTE on its own network, this situation will be resolved."
Here are a few options to make and receive voice or video calls and send and receive text messages: WhatsApp, Google Duo, Facetime and Messenger. These apps use data and do not require voice coverage.

Not entirely true apparently. 2G still works. It's quite a mess right now. A year from now it will hopefully be better.

Hi all,
As I understand from the above comments, mobile data is also not working ? I know the website says that phone calls and texts are not allowed. But I see that it is the opposite scenario. I have put funds in my wallet, as well, just to be sure that something works when I am in the US.

From what Fizz has told us, data should be working in the US.

Data should be working, but when you are connected to T-Mobile's 2G network (yes T-Mobile still has 2G network in many areas), the DATA connection that comes with 2G is the VERY SLOW 2G EDGE network, and people think there is no data connection.
One trick I found to kick out the the 2G in order to connect to T-Mobile's 4G LTE network instead, is to put airplane mode on and off (leave on 20 seconds). Once reconnected to 4G LTE, you will have good DATA connection.
It works for Android (I have an Android phone) and it should also work for iPhone.
I have been to North Eastern USA last June, and this is the situation I had to put up with.
I will be in Plattsburgh next month, and will check if things have changed or not.
