November 17 Alert Ready Test
On November 17th, 2021, provincial and territorial governments will be conducting another test of the Alert Ready system. Alert Ready is designed to distribute a variety of critical and potentially life-saving emergency alert messages to Canadians over wireless, TV, and radio.
WSPs are required to distribute all alerts that are sent by alert issuers. Canadians are not able to opt out of receiving emergency alerts.
Testing is a standard part of the emergency management process and every test of the national system helps us to improve it. Regularly testing and evaluating all systems and processes helps to ensure that in times of an emergency or disaster, urgent and lifesaving warnings can be distributed to the public by emergency management offices across the country.
Thank you,

On Android I disabled all alerts but still get them. As if my settings are being ignored...
Is it being overridden by the carrier? Is there something I can do?
Thanks,
Alexander
