Transferring my number to fizz

Hi!

I have a sim card from the public mobile, and I want to transfer my number to fizz. Should I buy a fizz sim card first? Or I can connect this existing sim card to the new carrier (fizz)?

Hi Erfan,
As the other members said previously, yes, you would need a new Fizz SIM card unto which to transfer said number.

Then, by using either the account number from Public Mobile or the phone's IMEI number, transfer your number from Overview-> Get started-> Mobile-> Activate a new SIM card and choose the Transfer a number to Fizz when prompted with the option.

I believe it is mandatory to buy Fizz' SIM card. Like they say "SIM card is what identifies you and connects your phone to [...] Fizz mobile network"

Mind you

if you want to keep your actual phone number, DO NOT CANCEL with the current cell provider. Fizz must take over for you to keep your number. https://fizz.ca/en/faq/activation-how-do-i-transfer-my-current-phone-number-to-fizz
make sure your phone is unlocked by your current provider.

You need to buy a Fizz SIM card :)

Here’s how to order your very first Fizz SIM card:

Go to the Fizz subscription page.
Create an account by entering your name, email and password.
Enter the number of SIM cards you wish to order (If you want multiple plans you can order more than one SIM — for example, for your spouse or your kids.)
Enter your home/service address (this address must be within the Fizz coverage area).
Add your delivery address (if different from your home/service address).
Select your shipping method.
Enter your payment information and click Submit.
... When you receive your SIM card, visit fizz.ca/activate to activate your sim card

Long story short: Yes order a new SIM card from Fizz first. If you live in Quebec you can purchase one at the Couche Tard.

One important detail: You can only transfer Quebec or Ottawa numbers. For example: a 647 number cannot be transferred to Fizz.

As mentioned, use a referral code before you sign up for the plan (there will be a box where you can fill it in). Right now you get 50$ welcome bonus!
