Self Installation?

Hello,
I recently requested an internet service from Fizz. due to COVID I don`t want someone enter to our place. We have a current cable installed that we`re using with another internet provider (Videoteron) that we want to be switched to be used with Fizz. I want to do the self-installation. It`s almost impossible that someone enter the place. Is it possible that I receive the modem and do the self-installation? Otherwise how can I cancel the service and request a refund?

Hi Seyed
Yes this is very possible especially since you already have the coaxial cable installed. If you already registered for Fizz home internet with the self-installation option, this is what Fizz writes:
"Easy Self-installation
As part of the precautionary measures against the COVID-19 virus, our technician will leave your Fizz Wi-Fi modem at your door. The verification of your connection will be done from outside. You'll then have to follow our simple instructions to install your modem and configure your network yourself. The technician will be in his truck and won’t leave until he can validate everything is good to go. "

Once your Fizz internet service is up and running, be sure to call your other provider to cancel the old service.

I see Whizz has replied and escalated your situation for more investigation.
The only reason I see the technician would have to enter your premises is if they have detected a problem with your cable line.5 -
it is possible indeed. I did it myself at home.6

I asked the technician to deliver it at my door as indicated in the instructions provided by Fizz but he refused.

It is possible if you have the cable already installed. Fizz and Videotron are technically the same company, so if you are with Videotron already, the technician does not need to enter. I did it and it was very easy to install (<30 min). The informations that come with the modem are clear. You just have to choose the self-installation when you order!5

Yes it's possible if there's already a coaxial câble in your appartment.
Normally, the technician will check only the signal of your internet connexion and give you the modem for your own installation.2 -
