Why do I need an appointment if I chose the self installation?

There are no appointments available before 2 weeks and I was hoping to get internet ASAP. I don't really understand what the appointment is for if i'm doing self installation. Is the appointment really necessary?
Thanks!
Thanks!

This was exactly my question a month ago!!! And the only thing the Videotron technican did was to deliver the modem/router.. that's it. Fizz should use canada post or ups for those who are already with a cable modem provider (aka videotron). My opinion.5

The technician should also check the signal from the cable. It is important.8

He never did it. I had 400mbps with videotron before. I think they should send the modem by courrier if the client already have Videotron.7

I think it's easier for them to follow the same pattern ;-)6

I think it's to check that the wiring is fine, if the signal is good enough, to move the wire if required. Since every videotron cable reseller does it, I suspect it might be a Videotron requirement. I guess in the end service calls for cable service fall on their laps.6

The Vidéotron technician needs to verify the quality of the signal and bring the modem.7

Hi Chloé ,
The appointment is needed because a technician needs to come and check the connection, in order to make sure everything is working properly following the installation of the modem.
Even if you will do the self-installation, an appointment is a must for a technician to come.
Also, if you didn't find any earlier appointments, then it means that all the spots are taken due to the busy program the technicians have.

Thank you very much for your understanding.
Have a good one!
