Phone and TV provider for those with Fizz Internet?
I have always stayed with one telecom company for Home Phone, Internet, and TV service. Most of the time, I was Videotron (Fizz mother company) but now with Bell for the past ten months. My great prices (one year promo) ends in March so I am looking for options.
My question: for those of you who use Fizz Internet, who are your TV and home phone providers? Note that:
- I live in Brossard, Québec.
- We have two HD TVs (no 4K), each with the new Apple TV.
- I need at least one PVR with a basic TV channels such as Radio-Canada, TVA, Global, CTV, ABC, CBS, and NBC + another receiver (or streaming device capability) for second TV.
- For now, I am not interested in installing an antenna on the roof of the house.
- For now, I am not interested in VOIP since I need a fixed landline for residential alarm and young kids talking to their friends.
Any advice?

I'm using Bell since they have the best Internet at a pretty decent price. If you call them and tell you will be leaving if they do not keep the discount, they usually will honor it.
I live in Delson, not so far from you9 -
Thanks Louis-Philippe for your answer. I was actually thinking the same thing or even calling back the salesman who came to my door to get the same price.
However, if I get a better deal with another provider, Bell's Customer Service has been terrible that I might switch in a heartbeat!7 -
Fizz does not provide TV7

I would say that my last try with Bell about 5 years ago had me thinking I'd never give them another chance as customer service tried ripping me off 3 time in a row and had me waste multiple hours on the line with them, trying to have the service I had ordered and not some subpar service missing multiple point that were in the contract.
Still, with the bad service from Videotron I was having last year, I switched to Bell as you did for the great price and fast internet. I have found that going online with the chat system gave me decent result when I contacted them to make some change. I wouldn't know how service is doing on phone line, but Chat was great for me.
I'd suggest you try it, maybe you'll be lucky as well!12 -
Do you have a trusted family member who has Bell TV, either via Fibe or satellite? It’s amazing the access to live TV you have through Apple TV with a Bell TV login. Sports, CNN, most of the networks. Other networks have free access to streaming without cable login.
Otherwise, I’d look at Bell Alt TV. I think Fizz should look into a competitor for Alt, it would be a perfect fit. As well, an antenna is your best friend for big live events.9 -
readhead,
We dont have as customer a big choice of TV provider.
Try to deal a new better price for renewal.
It's your good option.
For my experience, I had installed 12 years ago an HDantenna in my attic and i'm very happy to capt thoses free basic channels (PBS, Radio-Canada, V, Savoir-media, Tele-quebec, CTV Global, TVA, CBC ) and i dont regret my choice...9 -
Personnally, Bell was the worst customer service I've ever had in my WHOLE life. I'll never touch it anymore even with a 10 foot pole but it's only my humble opinion.12

Don't trust Bell.12

I don't know much about cable TV, but maybe Ebox TV is something to consider if their service meets your requirements.
I wouldn't wish Bell on my worst enemy...
We were with them for internet, and multiple phone lines and numbers and fax, for several decades until we just couldn't take their constant billing "errors".
Yes they can make interesting offers sometimes, but do they keep their promises or do they magically lose all records of it? Ask any Bell client.11 -
Good strategy. But Fizz no TV11

Fizz don't have tv... so ... Bell tv is great...8

sorry bell did not offer TV service.8

Hello All,
At the moment we don't offer these services, but hey, you may never know what the future may bring! Stay tuned!
I will go ahead and close this thread since it is going a little off-topic and because it is advertising others products and services than Fizz as stated in the Community Guidelines. But hey, feel free to explore the other options out there.
Thanks for the understanding!
Have a good one!
