Can anyone make sense of the confusing pricing mess just created in response to the past outages?
I signed up on introductory prices with the mention that I would have those prices for as long as I keep the plan, if the plan is changed regular pricing will apply.
Now it’s all just a confusing mess of conflicting information.
***Fizz, you need to clarify the confusing mess that was communicated today in response to the latest outage and the new “stabilization” period.***

Right now, it is all messed up, no one has the final answer, even the fizz support team, Let's hope they can reach a better solution.8

I agree with your question. I was under the impression that signing up for introduction price means it stays the same until you change your service plan. Hopefully it’s clarified quickly.7

The only good news is that "You will be notified of any change one month in advance."
I will start looking for options from now, just to be ready7 -
I do agree it was worded wrongly. People who pay for introductory prices right now will receive another 10% discount on top of the 20%(introductory). After the period of 3 months, they will then go back to introductory prices. Nothing to worry about, you'll keep the introductory pricing unless you change your plan.7

So it seems like they are saying that we would get an extra 10% off the intro price. It also seems to indicate that the end date for the intro price may be extended past April.7

Chris Payne, that is not what the Fizz representatives are saying in chat with members. They are saying that everyone will switch to regular prices after.
In fact, what really matters is the contract. Read section 15.3 in the pdf contract They can change the price whenever they want.7 -
This is not the right time for prepaid telecom carriers to be raising prices. Freedom Mobile just announced lower priced plans. Lucky Mobile, Chatr and Public Mobile have been lowering their prices as well.
If Fizz discontinues Introductory pricing after the stabilization period, unfortunately there won't be many customers who will stay with Fizz.

I really hope that they follow their word and stick with their promises. People are freaking out and floking away for competitors. Now is not the time to be bleeding loyal customers
If they advertised something and not following through with it, then that is 2 separate working in tandem (CRTC and Advertising Standards Canada), so please do not hesitate to file a complaint with them.7 -
Someone from Fizz needs to step forward and clarify. It concerns me that they've left this confused mess in the forum since yesterday afternoon when the "important notice" was posted.6

Same confusion with the French version of the text.5
-
@Sebastien I agree. I read the French text in the hopes that the translation was the problem. Nope. The writing is just as unclear in both languages.5

Right now you've set your current plan price. If you modify your plan, you will fall on the regular price so you will lose your rebates.3

Francesco, I suppose that does make sense upon talking with the reps. I just hope Fizz doesn't decide to make the wrong move and not keep their word. it's understandable that the prices can change at any time. But usually to do so they would have to inform is ahead of time, it may be wise to prepare for a change unless Fizz can finally clarify what exactly the goal in their message is.3

I have to agree that the wording in the email about returning to "regular pricing" is very bad3
-
No matter what name it is called, it's a definitely different price to what I have now!
In Fizz website, they say current price (introductory price) for calls only plan (unlimited calls and txt) is 11$/m, how COULD this be possible!!!
I check my plan that is 16$/m!!1 -
Asked the question on Twitter:
Can you confirm that current existing customers will get the 10% for 3 months (stabilisation period), then return to intro pricing in perpetuity (as long as we do not modify our plan) as promised?
And they replied:
The information that you asked for will be visible on the FAQ (link: https://fizz.ca/en/faq-stabilization-period) fizz.ca/en/faq-stabili… in the next few hours.4 -
Chris Payne, according to the contract they must inform us at least 30 days before changing the agreement. I actually never read my contract with Koodo before. It maybe had something similar; who knows. Regardless, Koodo never changed my price and when there was a better price I was always able to to get the newer better price.
The issue here is they promised us something, to hook us on, and now they re-negged on it. The intro prices are great, but thinking they will be great forever is not forward thinking. As every year goes by, the norm is to get more for the same price, so in a few years the great intro price you have today, won't be so great.
However, I knew this and was hoping to at least have a good price for a couple years...
redhead, hopefully they clarify as you mentioned, so far I didn't notice anything new..

What will happen to my price after the stabilization period?
For members who will have subscribed BEFORE April 12, 2019.
Once the stabilization period is over, your plan will return to its launch (introductory) price. Please note, however, that if you change your plan after the stabilization period, regular prices will apply. You will be notified of the end of the stabilization period one month in advance.
For members who subscribe ON, OR AFTER, April 12, 2019.
Once the stabilization period is over, regular prices will come into effect and will therefore apply to your plan. You’ll be happily surprised by these once the stabilization period has come to an end. You will be notified of the end of the stabilization period one month in advance.
