Cannot port phone number from Fizz to another carrier

Hey there,
After not receiving SMSs and losing service randomly, I decided to go back to Fido. Fido says that they cannot port my number from Fizz to Fido because the Fizz account is inactive. Fizz says that they cannot activate the account because the plan is cancelled, and that I can "remake the portability to Fizz once the number is active at Fido."
Obviously I Fizz are not keeping track of this ticket, and are giving me generic responses every time.
Do anyone know what would be the solution to this problem?

Unfortunately, IF you cancelled your Fizz account before transferring your phone number back to Fido, I think you have no way of getting your old number back...
.
Have you tried contacting Fizz directly though Facebook messenger or though the chat bubble? (Make sure your popup blocker is deactivated)12 -
Did you cancel your Fizz service yourself? When you port a number to another carrier you need to let the other carrier take care of closing your account for you. If you did it yourself that is probably the source of your problem (not sure how to fix that unfortunately).12

When contacting Fizz through FB messenger, they tell me that Fido can take the number if they want to, that they are not blocking it. Couldn't Fizz just re-activate an account with this number? Is this really not possible?
Unfortunately I cancelled my account myself yes.. But after fido told me that they couldn't access the number (when the account was still active)
It is a bummer12 -
Fizz keeps your number for 60 days after you cancel. How about activating your fizz account again just to port your number over to Fido? Is the number important enough for the extra cost?11

I wouldn't mind reactivating the account to get the number back, but I cannot select the number when reactivating it, and Fizz are telling me that they cannot reactivate it either... This is the main problem12

Hmmm...as I recall, I believe the 60 day thing was if Fizz suspends your service for failure to pay (ie., credit card expired). If you cancel before porting, you might be out of luck.12

It's pretty much standard that you'd lose your number if you cancel. You need to port out first. I've made this mistake in the past. Live and learn. Good luck.10

it will be a good idea that Fizz warm about the lost of the number when user cancel themselves.5
