Do we need to let Fizz know when we will be using the phone in the USA?

    No, just active roaming and data roaming.

    Formally, no. It will just work. You have to make sure that you have paid for service in the US. You have to have one of these:

    • Canada & US plan
    • US Travel addons (these are separate for talk, text and data, so you can choose what you need)
    • Pay-as-you-go credit in your Fizz wallet (ON and QC only)

    For data, you also will have to enable data roaming on your phone.

    It is not uncommon to receive a text message from Fizz when you are in the USA telling you that you are roaming. I think it may even say something about roaming charges, I can’t recall specifically.
    However, if you have a Canada & USA plan or travel add on, there are no extra charges.

    No, provided your plan includes the US, you can continue to use your phone there. You will likely receive a text from Fizz letting you know you are roaming in the US, but if you have a plan, you shouldn't be charged anything extra.
