Emergency Alert and Location

I got an emergency alert today from Alberta but I am located in BC. I did sign-up my mobile plan under BC earlier and changed to a Canada+US plan not long ago.

Anyone knows why I am getting the Alberta emergency alert and will I be getting the ones from BC? Thanks.

    Hello @josephkhng ,
I hope my message will clarify this situation.
What you experienced is normal and is not related to your Fizz plan being registered in BC or to your Canada+US plan.
Emergency alerts in Canada are generally distributed based on the geographic area targeted by the alert and the cellular network your device is connected to at that moment, rather than the province associated with your phone number or account.
As a result, it is possible to occasionally receive an alert issued by a neighboring province. This can happen if you are near a provincial border, if the alert area overlaps multiple regions, or if your device is connected to a cell tower that falls within the targeted alert zone.
You should still receive emergency alerts relevant to your location in BC, provided your device is compatible with Alert Ready and connected to an LTE or 5G network when an alert is issued.
I wish you a great day!

Are you near the border? Could just be a remenant configuration thing that picked up your cellphone or was just a longer range alert. I would not worry. When I travel across provinces I do get alerts that crossover sometimes but I still get the alerts for the area I am in
