Restoring physical SIM

Hello,
I'd lost my phone and so blocked it, then set up a different phone with an eSIM. Today, someone found my phone and I want to go back to using it. I took it off the block list, but am wondering if there is something else I need to do to go back to using it with the physical SIM. Do I need to delete the eSIM from the secondary phone or re-register the old SIM, or will it start working again once the phone is off the block list?

Thanks!

hi, Yes — if you simply removed your phone from the blocklist (IMEI), your physical SIM should work again as soon as you put it back in the device.

IMEI blocking prevents the device from accessing the network. Once removed from the blacklist, the device becomes usable normally again.

Since you set it up as an eSIM, you will need to go to your account to transfer it back to a SIM and delete your eSIM.

    Hello Adalwulf,

I am glad to hear you recovered your phone!

If your number is currently associated with an eSIM and you would like to switch to a physical SIM card, you will need to complete a SIM change from your account.

Likewise, if you want to use an eSIM on your old phone, you will also need to perform a SIM change. The existing eSIM cannot be transferred between devices — a new eSIM QR code must be generated.

You can complete the SIM change by logging into your account and going to: My Plans > Manage Plan > Change My SIM

During the process, you will be asked to confirm your identity to ensure that the account owner is making the request.

If you are requesting a new eSIM, a new QR code will be generated. Please note:

    • The QR code must be scanned within 30 minutes, or it will expire.

    • After scanning the QR code, please allow up to 30 minutes for the eSIM to be fully activated.

    • Once activation is complete, you can test your line by following the instructions here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-test-my-fizz-line

If you need any assistance during the process, feel free to reach out. Our support agents can be reached here: https://fizz.ca/en/support

    Thank you for understanding!
    Have a good day!
