Options for Intermittent internet

Of course when I contact support I am told there are reported interruptions since July 1.
I have been having issues since before then.
I have had technicians come, check the cables, replace the heads on the cables, etc.
Still the issues persist.
I have suggested that we could try replacing the very old modem before cancelling service, but I was told the only way to get a replacement was to upgrade our service. ..this is a hard sell when it does not make any sense to pay more for a service that is currently unreliable.
Usually service drops for about 15min and comes back. 5-6 times per day.
This is very difficult when you work from home and have to do meetings all day. It severely impacts the ability to have consistent conversations.
Not to mention the overage fees on our cellphone service as they switch off of wifi all the time.
Currently looking for alternative solutions.
I’m ready to purchase my own modem, to at least try that before cancelling service, but really surprised no one at fizz ever wanted to try sending us a replacement.
What have other people done to get good support?

With Fizz you cannot purchase a new modem, can you try your modem in someone else home or the other way around. This will exclude the problem with the cable (but the tech should already have it excluded)
A long shot, create a new plan and close the old
or upgrade for a month, but be sure that the will send a new modem when you upgrade, since i believe that they will not do it

HI @Coco_the_beef,
Looks like your issue is not the service but may be due to your WIFI.
Are you using Wifi from the modem or you have your own router.
Wifi issues can vary depending location and use. If you are in apartment then you might have interference with your neighbors channel. Also your wifi is closer to microwave or some king of electromagnetics wave. Either reset your wifi to use different channel or move to new it to new location. Try exploring some of these things0 -
Fizz old modem has WIFI issues. You can ask Fizz to upgrade your modem to a new one, or use your own router.

Hello @Coco_the_beef
You may upgrade for one month if you are sure to receive the new modem for this period.
You may also try to unplug for few days the connected devices that you use constantly one at a time. You may find that one of them is causing this issue.

The whizz told me that at the moment the new modem is only for new activation

So it is risky to get stuck with the old modem, unless the support service confirm in a writen ticket that they will send a replacement one.
