Porting In Technical Issue - 7 days!

My phone has had a technical issue with porting in. I've been without a phone number now for 7 days (technically 6.5 days. It feels ridiculously long and I can't keep going without a phone number.
Has anyone else experienced this issue for as long as me? How long did it take to resolve? Should I just give up and make a new account somewhere else and lose my phone number?
I really need help because I can't keep living without a phone number, and the only thing support tells me is 'we're working on it', but I can't understand how someone can actually be working on it for days with no update.
