Hi @wonder
This depends on which tower is connecting too, but if for him the phone service is important he should consider modify the plan (if it is able to do, you need to do at least 6 days before the next billing cycle and the modification will be effective the next billing cycle) https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-do-i-change-my-mobile-plan (If you change the plan, you the price is the price on the change, therefore, there is no guarantee to get the same price when change it back)Or he can consider buy addon for each service https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-is-an-add-on-and-how-do-i-buy-one
or he can put money in the fizz wallet https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-is-my-wallet-and-how-do-i-use-it0

Thanks - my impression was it may work for data on the plan, given this post, but it's from 2023, hence why I wanted to double check - anyone else had success in our border towns - Rockland, Wendover, Hawkesbury?

Someone reported that sometime the phones is working in Ontario with a Quebec plan, however, this is an error from Fizz which it seems to be corrected

Do we know this for sure?
Not that I have tried this myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if any Vidéotron towers (not Freedom Mobile) in Ontario are still included in the QC coverage. Which would include Ottawa as well as areas alongside but south of the river towards Montréal.

I wonder if Quebec only plan go to Ontario, is there any signal on the phone?

Once you leave the QC coverage zone, however far into Ontario it may reach, you'd still have a signal and incoming texts would still work (as they are free). For anything else, you'd need either addons or funds in your Fizz wallet.

You can also check that map to see the actual coverage : https://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/cancellsites.html?lat=52.025459&lng=-96.987305&zoom=4&type=Roadmap&layers=a&pid=0&ds=00

Hello @wonder ,
If a customer has a regional coverage, such as in your case Quebec, they will only be able to use the services within that region and not beyond.
I recommend changing the plan to a Canada-wide coverage, which will allow the plan to be used throughout Canada, including minutes, texts, and data. Please note that to make this change, your account must have at least 5 days remaining in the current billing cycle. If there are fewer than 5 days left, the freeze period will prevent any plan changes. You can find more information about this here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-do-i-change-my-mobile-planAlternatively, you can opt to purchase a Travel add-on for Canada, which will provide minutes, texts, or data while you are visiting. Travel add-ons are immediately effective and will be available until the end of your next payment cycle. For more details about Travel add-ons, please check here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/im-travelling-outside-my-coverage-zone-what-are-my-roaming-options
