long activation and no service after activated

i am transferring from Fido to Fizz this evening with a physical SIM card to my iPhone 7. I replied "YES" to the Fido text message at 8:02 PM, and it is now 10:36 PM after over 2.5 hours finally activated but after multiple reset still no service. and suggestion?

    After verifying your account I was able to see that your transfer has been successful and the line is fully transferred.
    I noticed that you have managed to use some data as well.
    Please try and restart the phone again and test your line.

    Regarding the iMessage other user reported that started to working after couple of days

    Regarding the signal do you have the network operator selector configured to automatic? iPhone: Settings → Operators → Automatic/Fizz

    What does "no service" mean exactly? Did you insert Fizz' SIM card? Does your phone register on any network? If so, have you tried outgoing text and call? What exactly is not working?
