having interenet stuttering issues for weeks...

Due to maybe the power cut a few weeks back… Power is restored but my interent connection isnt smooth like it was a month ago.
I did reserach and found the modem to have intel puma 6 chipset. Was asking IT support back to back still nothing valuable.
Did factory reset on both fizz coda and my wifi router, still issues (inconsistency), I've been thinking to buy a seperate modem to use it along with my router.

Hello shiba_booboo,
Thank you for letting us know about this situation.
I have made the necessary verifications in our tools, and I see there is no unavailability declared in your sector, but the signals for your modem are fluctuating a bit.
Please make sure that the coaxial cable is properly screwed at both ends and it's not damaged. If you have multiple coaxial outlets available, please test your connection by connecting your modem to a different one.
Also, please make sure the modem is connected directly to an electrical wall outlet, and you are not using an extension cord for the modem's connection. After that, reboot your modem by unplugging the power cable on your Wi-Fi modem, make sure all the lights on the modem are off once you have unplugged it; Wait thirty seconds, plug your modem back into the electrical outlet and expect a three minute delay for your devices to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network.

If the issues persist, please contact us from the support page and we will assist you further. You can do that here: https://fizz.ca/en/support
Have a good one!

Apparently I am having an issue similar to yours, just finished a chat with a tech about frequent disconnects. He was telling me that the location of my modem is important due to interference with other electrical or electronic devices. To be honest, it's the first time I hear that, and I am working in IT… but this post gave me hints.. at one point last year, I installed smart plugs in my house in order to be able to restart modem, router, cameras and other stuff in my house from a vpn in remotely. I realise now that the issues with disconnects started about the same time. I removed the smart plug from the modem power and I will see how it behaves from now on.
