How does a discussion get closed?

Sometimes my own thread is closed before I even have a chance to respond lol

    Only the Whizz can close a discussion, usually they do when the discussion should continue in private with them

    That's what I assumed but it seemed to be random to me. One time whizz didn't even respond just ended it...
