While in the USA... options for voice mail and text only with no minutes?
I will be in the USA for the next couple of months. I have a USA phone and only need to know if I have voice mail or a text message coming in on my FIZZ number. Is there an option that will enable me to change my plan to only have VM and texts? I don't need data or phone minutes during that time.

Yes for the voicemail, for the incoming texts you don't need to buy anything, you need to buy a travel addons only for the outgoing SMS

The incoming text messages are always free
Yes you can have only a VM however, in order to be able to use it you need minutes, you need to pay for the incoming calls also if they go to the VM. You can pay as you go or buy an addon to do it.
You can modify your plan, however, you cannot be changed in the freezing period which is 4.5 days before the next billing cycle and the modification will be available the next billing cycle.

Thanks. But I can access my Fizz voice mail from my USA phone by dialing the 514-xxx-xxxx number, so I don't need minute on Fizz. Does that sound workable?

In order to be able to receive the call and be forwarded to the voicemail you need minutes

Good to know: To use your voicemail, your plan must include minutes. If not, you won’t be able to use it or access it, whether from your mobile phone or any other phone.

So if I purchased add-ons for text and minutes, and retained only an Ontario plan that was Voice Mail ONLY, would I be able to receive FIZZ texts in the USA and also be able to call into my phone for voice mail from my USA phone?
