URGENT - SECURITY PROBLEM - ADMIN WEBPAGE ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE

I have a CODA-4680 modem. If I try browsing https://[MY_PUBLIC_IP]:8081 through a VPN or through 5G, I reach the admin webpage of my Fizz modem. So it means that anyone on the internet could reach it. Fizz removed the "Remote Management" tab in the admin webpage so it seems like there's no way to block it. There's no way to block the 8081 port either. In my opinion this is EXTREMLY unsafe and if there's no way to block this, this modem will end up in the trash very soon.

    I believe that the page is open in order to be able to control the modem with the app

    Or if you have your own router, configure the modem in bridge mode in this way your will not have the port open anymore

    You should contact the support https://fizz.ca/en/support , and click on the green bubble on the bottom right of the page in order to chat with them to find the right solution for you.

    Thank you for sharing your concern on the community,

    This specific situation you encounter, is probably the result of some modifications you have made to your modem.

    I can assure you that it is not possible to remotely access the modem unless you have made a confirgurations that will allow it to. By default, it will not work. If you have authorized any devices to access it remotely and you are unable to revert that, we kindly advise you to factory reset your modem.
    To do so, press and hold the small button on the modem's back for 10-15 seconds ( if you hold for less than that, the modem will just restart). After that you will have to setup your wifi network again, using the steps on this FAQ, point 5: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-install-my-wi-fi-modem

    Also, the only way to access your modem interface/admin page, it to be connected to the modem's wifi or with a cabled connection.
