This is a good timming for me but I find very little info on that new change. I try to change the address it doesn"t work. Somehow I end up ordering a new card for my new address but how do I change my account address? can I keep my 450 phone number in BC?

I'm assuming you've already tried to go to: Account > My Plans > Manage my plan > Moving.

If you haven't this should be the first thing you try.

If you're having trouble with this you can try to contact support (but be aware customer support has a large backlog of requests) https://fizz.ca/en/support

As for changing your phone number area code, you can also try and ask support.

You will most likely have to give up your old number and see if Fizz has any numbers under that area code.

You can manage this under: Account > My plans > Manage my plan > Change my number

It is possible with the new influx of members that numbers may not be available as other users have found out when getting a new number with Fizz and that you might not get the right area code or the area code you want.

My area code in Chambly Quebec was 450, do I need to change my phone number for a 438 code here in BC.

You should contact support and see what they say. But I don't really see why not? I don't think the area code matters now as much as it used to. I could be wrong.

In Quebec you can keep your number even if you move to an area with a different area code.

No need, you can simply change your plans to Whole Canada-wide.🧐🤪

Hi, Everyone none of your above answer where good! Here is the answer I got from Support after 2days. Thank you for your response.
First, you will need to unsubscribe from your current plan ► My plans ► Manage my plan ► Unsubscribe.
You plan will remain active until the end of the payment cycle.
After your new SIM card arrives, you will need to activate it, and in the activation process you will have the option to choose a new phone number.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I think this would be if you want a new number with BC area code.

As per customer service since I moved I have no choice to change the phone number. As well it is impossible to change the account address (so any correspondeance comes to me in BC) without changing the plan and the phone number.

What correspondences are you expecting to get from fizz? everything is basically email/your account notifications. not sure if different provinces makes a difference but my phone number is not the area code of where im staying in ontario and i can signup and port fine. making people change phone numbers does not seem right as most people have phone numbers linked to a variety of things. i remember reading previously to port a number to fizz you just have to make sure the area code of the number is within fizz's home area. perhaps you could port your number to another provider and then port it back to fizz in a new account that you set BC as your home address to keep your number?

Hi, I don't know why you are arguying here or just hate to be wrong. This is the answer I got from customer service : Thank you for your response.

I did ask about keeping my number and did try to keep it. The answer is NO, while moving from Quebec to BC you may not keep your phone number. This is the only way to do it! Please do not confuse any body with your Mumbo Jumbo!

One could make no change for a while as if the are in vacation, but not only the wrong address remain in file (the system does not allow the plan to move from one province to the other a new plan must be created as explain by customer services) also the quality of texting and other function might not work properly. All my change are done and running leaving info here for others.

    Hi @Mamasaidso

I was thinking that it's not possible as well, but eventually it was possible. Please check this discussion:

This is basically what I mentioned in my post above to keep the number. you have to port it into fizz from another provider. The OP is already with fizz and wants to change the service area and keep the QC number but fizz wont let them. But the OP is not like most people and I guess doesn't mind going to update all their contacts/sites with a new number. Also if the sim card is already LTE compatible, a QC sim card is the same as a BC for all intents and purposes. You can reactivate the same sim card and save the cost of getting another sim card.

@Mamasaidso Since you wants to keep the 450 code, don't change anything except for having Canada coverage, and you will be able to keep your 450 code. However, remember that not everyone is comfortable calling a phone number that will be considered long distance (if it is not covered by their plan).

You may do that as temporay but has permanent you can't. It does not allowed you to change the address from Qc to BC without changing the plan. You may not received any card or correspondance by the mail. Your credit card address does match with your account ! And why should I try to cheat the system while BC plan are cheaper!

You may not change your address to BC without changing Plan. And you may not change the plan to BC without changing your phone number. I tried everything! Did kept my phone working for a good 6 months without doing nothing! But the new house owner in Qc will not keep sending my new cards or correspondance to me ! Plus I should pay taxes here not there !

Bottom line dispite the technology allowed the communication, the paper works that goes with it don"t allowed the account in order to be legal!
