Samsung A54 unable to connect to network.

Hello,

Yesterday I ported my phone number to Fizz. I went through the activation procedure and received the confirmation e-mail that the port has been successful. However my phone is not able to make calls, texts or use data. I am in "emergency calls only" mode. When I attempt to make a call, I get "Not registered on network". In the sim manager, my SIM shows "unknown number" but recognises it as a Fizz SIM. When I try to search manually for network operators, I get the error message "Error while searching for networks".

I tried the SIM in my Samsung S23 Ultra and it worked with no issues. Which led me to believe that Fizz may not support my phone model but it seems they sell the same model on their website. Although it may be a different submodel? But I've never had issues using this phone with other providers.

Phone: Samsung A54 5G (SM-A546W) Unlocked

Here are my attempted solutions, some through the request of a customer service rep and others on my own:

- Update phone: It is on the latest update

- Reboot: Unsuccessful

- Remove SIM, Reboot, Reinsert SIM: Unsuccessful

- Switch to old SIM, Reboot when prompted to restart to install new network settings, Switch back to Fizz SIM, Reboot when prompted to restart to install new network settings: Unsuccessful

- Send Fizz Network Parameters to my phone: Notifications never reach the phone or I get an error saying I have to enter the parameters manually

- Set Fizz Network Parameters manually (with and without reboot): Unsuccessful

- Attempt to manually select network operator: "Error while searching for networks"

- Reset network settings from phone menu: Unsuccessful

- Wipe cache partition and factory reset phone: Unsuccessful

I'm really not sure what to do at this point. Any help would be much appreciated. Seems likely that my only option at this point is to cancel my subscription and switch providers.

- Wipe cache partition and factory reset phone: Unsuccessful.

This is strange. I've seen on forum other people with that phone that worked with fizz network (I think it was just a few days ago someone was asking about using samsung A54 5G in the us on forum). So from that I don't think its fizz not supporting the phone model. Also you tried the sim card on your other phone which means its not the sim card and the porting has worked fine. That comes down to an issue with your specific phone… I'm assuming that model is a canadian version and not the international version which may have some differences (but should still have you partial access to the services). Can you get someone else's working sim card and see if you can get signal? I'm tempted to suspect something is wrong phone's sim reader thats having trouble. Maybe a ping got bent or something when you removed the old provider sim.

I think I saw something similar the last year on the forum. Someone bought a phone (probably the same model) from Amazon but it was made for Latin America. And if I remember correctly, only VoLTE was not working for him.
