Hello,
I am planning to travel to Korea for about 11 months next year.
If I use the pay as you go text option or 200 text addon, will this work indefinitely? Is there a time limit as to how long I can be overseas?
Thank you!

    Hi,

I didn’t see a 200 text add on, just a pay as you go, or an add on for data.
Pay as you go does not have time limits, as far as I know. So long as you have funds in your wallet (Quebec only) you can continue to pay as you go for texts.

    From the FAQ:

“A Travel Add-on is basically a block of data at a fixed price that allows you to use your Fizz service while travelling outside your coverage area (roaming). Once purchased, you can use it immediately, and it will remain available until the end of your next payment cycle.”

I think someone mentioned something about fizz needing you to be connected to a canadian network after a certain amount of time. I would double check with support. @Whizz

As for the question about time:

The page here states that the 3 month usage limit applies to partnered networks in CAN+US. My guess is this is to stop users from spending 3+ months in the US or on Fizz_EXT a majority of the time.

But the Travelling guide doesn't mention this at all, see here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/im-travelling-outside-my-coverage-zone-what-are-my-roaming-options

You might have better luck asking chat support via messenger/whatsapp for a quicker reply as the usual customer support chat is overloaded.

    About Add-ons:

You mentioned wanting to use the text add-ons and doing so is fine, however there are better alternatives. But a reminder that incoming texts are always free if someone needs to reach you.

Ideally if you don't have grandfathered/intro pricing locked in, you could set your plan to the bare minimum to keep your expenses low, and purchase an eSIM/SIM in Korea as it will be cheaper than add-ons for data/calls.

Using apps like Messenger/Whatsapp on Wi-Fi or local data SIM is a much better option.

In Canada there is a limit of three months for living outside your region. You should check on Fizz site.
