Poor and non existent service during the power out

I live in south shore and the power was out for 18 hours for thousands of homes. During this period, one would expect Fizz to come handy. The service was pathetic. One could not connect with hydro Quebec or any site to find out what was going on. The phone was working but the other person could not hear I was saying. Texting service was mediocre. What is the use of having a cell service. My neighbor who is on another provider's network told me that he had some issues in the beginning but the service was working well and he was giving info to other neighbours about the power out. What was your experience. My view, fizz should provide significant refunds to its users. This will teach them to have a better back up system.
