Is VoLTE compatible phone required?

I'm trying to switch into fizz but I have a phone that is manufactured and bought in South Korea. The model is in the list of VoLTE phones, but I don't know if this will work since I also can't use any tap for payment features like google pay in countries other than South Korea either.
If this doesn't work, does it mean I can still make calls with fizz SIM without using VoLTE, or do I only get to use text messages and data?

    If your phone is not VoLTE certified, don't panic! For now, you can continue to use your mobile plan. Keep in mind, however, that you will eventually have to change your phone. The day the 3G network disappears, you won't be able to use it if it's not VoLTE certified with Fizz.

    You can use your phone with us without encountering any issue. The only thing that you need to keep on your mind is that it might affect your services if you frequently travel to the USA, as in order for the services to work there, you need a VoLTE Sim, coverage Canada + USA and a certified Fizz VoLTE phone. 😀
