Internet 400Mbps - only 80Mbps
We're just moving in our new house, and we just subscribed Fizz for our Internet. We took the one of 400Mbps, 50 upload. But after facing many lags in games and in 4K videos I just discovered that the connection is only 80Mbps max....
Another fun fact: When usingthe app on my cellephone (so, wifi connected) I have.... a 270Mbps in the app
So, my wifi connection is faster than the ethernet one? How is it possible ? Or do I have fake values over the app on my cell phone?
FYI: No DNS, nor VPN when performing these tests. + the 80Mbps have been observed through different bandwidth website + using various assets always RJ45 connected to the router (laptop + smartTV).

Hi @Darkneo
Regarding the smartTV the majority of them have the maximum speed of 100mbps
Did you already try to turn off the modem for a minute, restart the modem wait 5 minutes, connect the computer with the ethernet, verify that the link is at 1Gbsps and test it again
You can always contact the support,
, and click on the green bubble on the bottom right of the page in order to chat with them to find the right solution for you.0 -
Thanks for your feedbacks. I'll try to get in touch with the support team then... I was not aware of the limitation for the smart TV, but I am having the same value with a laptop.. So I think it's not because of the TV limitation
I'll try to restart the router first to see how it goes. Once again thanks for your feedbacks!0 -
I suggest trying a speed test website from both your phone and computer to make sure you are measuring the same way, if you still have a different speed then something may be wrong with the slower device.

This may be a stupid question but does your laptop have a Gigabit Ethernet port?.

I still remember my first day with fizz modem, I tested between 15 meters away with two wall in between my speed was very low
I turn off the wifi went near the modem, turn on the wifi and I got my speed, the problem was the band steering and the poor wifi signal from the modem at that time I had only an old usb Ethernet adapter that wasn’t a gb . I connect my own router to the modem and till the. I have a good signal and speed

Hello Darkneo
Could you please verify if the cables show any sign of damage? Also, please restart your modem by unplugging its power cable, leave it until all the lights are off, allow it 10 more seconds, then plug it back in a different electrical outlet if possible, not a bar or an extender.
