Can I Port my Numbet
Just about to finally order a sim card. However I was on Reddit and read a comment by someone trying to sell the sims they purchased.
They claimed they were unable to port there number because it was a number acquired when they lived outside of Winnipeg.
I believe I might be in the same boat. My number is from Brandon and I am now back in Winnipeg. Will I also be unable to port my number. I didn't want to tie up the chat lines so I was hoping someone could help me here. A number port check feature might help others in the future.
Thanks

Hi @Prevost81
You number should be part of the subscription area in order to be able to port it
, therefore, you should not be able to port itYou should double-check with the support ,
, and click on the green bubble on the bottom right of the page in order to chat with them to find the right solution for you.0 -
Good morning @Prevost81
To clarify the info provided by elena, here is a snip from the fizz faq:
“If your number starts with an area code outside the Fizz subscription area, your number cannot be transferred.”
Since there are only two area codes in Manitoba, both used in Winnipeg which is inside the Fizz subscription area, you will be able to port your number, subject to a couple of restrictions, the details of which can be found here:
“Your phone number must be a mobile number. If it's associated with a landline or VOIP, it cannot be transferred over to Fizz. Same goes for an administrative phone number — for example, a number associated with an organization or public institution.”
Cheers,
Brad.
If you need a referral code to take advantage of the 25.00 credit, let me know and I will send you mine, or you can check out the forum thread specific to that topic.
