why need IMEI number for Phone number transfer.
https://fizz.ca/en/faq/activation-how-do-i-transfer-my-current-phone-number-to-fizz
but my question is that WHY Fizz needs IMEI number of my phone? the reason for this question is that, I or any customer, should be allowed to move the SIM card between phones if needed?

You can port it using the account number of your actual provider

Having the IMEI number permits Fizz to check international mobile equipment identity (IMEI) numbers that are associated with mobile devices that should be denied service on mobile networks because they have been reported as lost, stolen, faulty, or otherwise unsuitable for use.
If Fizz did not check the IMEI number against this list, they would be the carrier of choice for everyone who came into possession of a lost/stolen/faulty phone.
You can check IMEI numbers yourself here. Handy when buying a used phone. https://www.devicecheck.ca/0

Hi @WB14
The procedure that you posted is to porting your number from a different operator to Fizz.
If you change the phone, take your sim and insert to your new (compatible) phone and everything will work right away.

You can do the transfer anytime but the phone number is attached to the IMEI. In this way you can not use a stolen phone.

Huh? That procedure sounds like you're porting your number. You should be able to just take out your sim and insert it to another phone.

Stolen phone? I am not looking for E-Sim. I may be looking to port my main number to Fizz, attached to Fizz phyiscal SIM card.
I have moved around multiple Carriers (post and/or pre-paid), no one ever asked for IMEI. I can understand, SIM card Number but Phone IMEI ?! … that's just unreasonable.
I have multiple older (but not too old generation) phones and currently in the phase of testing Fizz (with random number assinged) service at the places I frequent.
is there No way without phone IMEI to Port my number ?

Every phone, no matter of generation has an IMEI. I don't understand your problem with giving your IMEI.

Hello @WB14
As some of our clients already stated to you. providing the IMEI is for security reasons in case your phone has been reported as stolen.
If that is not suitable for you, you can always transfer your number using the account number from your current provider. In order to do so, keep in mind that an active plan is needed, otherwise the transfer will not be completed.
As for the best answer, I assigned it to @BradDoell as he gave the closest answer to the your issue.
