Pre-order Fizz, lower price, haven't activated modem yet

Hi!
I ordered a plan effective for may 1st. Since I'm moving, the modem will be delivered to the new address around May 1st. So, my plan hasn't been activated yet and it won't be until at least then.

I have the plan for 55$ a month for 400MO, but Fizz has a promo on their website now of the same plan for only 49$ a month. I've been trying, but can't seem to switch to this lower monthly cost?

I reached out to the support and they don't seem to be able to modify it given it's not activated yet. They've told me all I can do is refuse the package on delivery and go with a cheaper plan somewhere else (given I've since found cheaper than 55$ a month from Fizz). But is there no way to just modify my price before activation??

Seems like a very inefficient way to go and needlessly costly for Fizz.

    We're sorry for the inconvenience, however modifying the price before the plan activation can't be processed.

    After your modem activation, you can easily swap the price or upgrade/downgrade to a higher/lower speed as you'd like, by accessing your Fizz account → My plans → Manage my plan → Change my plan. Any plan change has to be done at least 5 days before your end of cycle date and it will take effect on your new payment cycle.
