New user forum post validation: how long does it last?

Hello!

I recently joined Fizz, and so the forums.

I'm aware new users have to wait before their comments / posts are validated before showing on the forums, but I haven't been able to find information as to how long that effect lasts. Is it a norm? Do we end up being "trusted" after a certain amount of posts?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you :D

Hello, and welcome to the Fizz community!

Yes, it's common for many online forums, including Fizz, to have a moderation period for new members. This process helps maintain the quality and safety of the forum by preventing spam and ensuring that posts align with community guidelines.

The duration of this initial moderation phase can vary. It's typically not explicitly stated how long it lasts as it can depend on various factors like the number of posts, the quality of your contributions, and how well they adhere to the community guidelines.

    Here's what usually happens:

    1. Initial Posts Moderated: Your first few posts and comments are moderated. This means they're reviewed by the forum moderators before being made public.
    2. Earning Trust: As you continue to participate in the forum and your posts are consistently found to be in line with the community standards, you'll gradually be considered a trusted member. This doesn't necessarily mean a specific number of posts; it's more about the quality and consistency of your contributions.
    3. Less Moderation Over Time: As you gain this trust, your posts will likely require less moderation and may start appearing immediately without the need for approval.

The key is to remain active and contribute positively to the community. Engage in discussions, provide helpful answers, and adhere to the forum's rules and etiquette. Over time, you'll find that your posts are published more quickly.
